The 170th anniversary of Blairmore Pier was on Wednesday 30th July 2025
During this video, we bring you some highlights of the day including the P.S. Waverley’s tribute to the pier and the work involved in maintaining such an iconic structure.
Blairmore Pier was originally built in 1855 for steamers and drovers, the pier was painstakingly renovated and reopened in 2005, after being closed and derelict for 30 years. Today, it is enjoyed by many for fishing, picnics, berthing for passing boats, weddings, proposals and for boarding PS Waverley on her summer schedule.
The Heritage Bothy
Located on the hammerhead end of Blairmore Pier, the heritage bothy tells the story of the pier, the local area and local wildlife. It’s also doubled up as a private space for weddings or secluded picnics!
